What version of Adobe After Effects should i get for XP Pro 64bit?
I'm looking to buy (if possible) an older version of After Effects without having to upgrade my OS from XP Pro 64bit and use the newer version (of AE or the OS). I just ran a trial version of AE 5.5 hoping it would work but it doesn't. I'm very satisfied with the speed and abilities of XP, more so than Win7 or 8 (totally not touching Vista) and want to stay here for a while. So if anyone has had any experience with possibly the last good version of AE that runs on XP (64bit), i'd appreciate it if you shared your info. Thanks.

You can't BUY older versions anymore from Adobe. So, After Effects CS 6 is all that's available from Adobe. And, it only runs on Windows 7.
So, you have to choose to stick with XP and forget After Effects, OR Upgrade to W 7.
TIP: It may also run on Windows 8, and should be announced on Adobe's website. And, the W 8 Pro Upgrade only costs $ 40 until Jan. 2013, directly from Microsoft.
