Can I get an industrial piercing if I have the two holes done separately?
Okay, so I've heard stuff from a lot of sources - both friends and internet - and they say that the second hole hurts a lot and that you can't sleep on it for a while and it hurts like a hellion when it gets bumped. I know everyone's body is different, though. What I am wondering is if it would be any better if I got the two holes pierced at separate times (say the second a couple weeks after the first) and then after they healed put a barbell through them? I would obviously let the piercer know if I chose to do this, and go back to the same person for the second one. Should I just do it all at once? I'm a college student so I love my sleep and I move a lot, like I toss and switch sides all night long. Plus I work with kids, and some are small (1 - 2 years old) and I don't want them to bump it all the time because they don't know better. Any advice welcome, or even if you just have some information or a story to share about your own industrial.
It's not that I can't "take" the pain of getting the piercing. I have other ear piercings and stretched ones, nose piercing, and a couple tattoos. I just want to avoid the kids ripping it out or losing too much sleep. I know they make each hole separately anyways, and I wasn't going to switch to the industrual after both healed. Like I said, I would let the piercer know so they could plan it out for me. I'll probably just go there and ask the guy what he thinks, too. I was just curious-not like I'm going to say absolutely not just because of the pain! Thanks though.

Do it at the same time because once you feel the pain for the first whole your not gnu want to go back for the second one. I have 8 piercings including two dermals, and my industrial was by far the most painful piercing ever! it's a fast proccess but i recommend you pierce both at the same time.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. It would be easier to do it in one go, the thing about industrial piercings is that if they arent lined up pristinely they could end up warping your ear (either making it stickout or twist oddly) which in the end would make it MUCH more painful for the second to heal.
Having 12 piercings, I've learned lots about the healing process and its best to mess with them less, and if you were to switch to an industrial a couple weeks down when you got the second piercing they would have to change the jewelry for the first one, which would agitate it and in result it could flare up even more then when it did when it was originally pierced.

i received mine performed by way of doing the 2 holes, hanging jewelry in, letting it heal then hanging a percent bar via letting that heal wholly then hanging a correct bar in. It truthfully heals higher this manner. But you would need to get the 2 holes performed immediately so the may also be coated up flawlessly and pierced mainly with the only needle (to ensure its immediately)

If you really want one you can go through the pain! I don't recommend doing it separately. The holes have to be lined up correctly in order for the earring to go through. It sounds more painful doing it all separately.
