On the web, why do some people get mean while they can't be seen?

    They get extra bold, as they can't see the other persons reaction. Not just people who are mean- people who are shy become suddenly very outgoing on the Internet. The guy I like texts me all the time, but I don't like it because I can be bold and speak a lot via text, but when I see him in person I'm pretty nervous and say stupid things.
