5 Week Old Tattoo????

So, I got a tattoo, obviously 5 weeks ago of a blue rose on my foot. This is my first one so I don't know too much about the care of them, just the basics. It's still a little dry so I've still been using the pigment protection cream my tattooist gave to me, but I've narrowed it down to using it two times a day (morning and night). If I don't use it then I've noticed I get these whiteish spots on it that look like scabs.

So my questions are..

1. When do I stop using the pigment cream?

2. What should I still avoid with it eg. direct sunlight, itching ect.

3. I've taken it in the shower obviously but still scared to try the bath. When can it be submerged in water?

4. Should I go see the tattooist when it's healed just in case it needs a touch up?

No annoyingly teasing comments thanks.

Update:

I can't go to walmart. I live in Australia lol :) but I'll try Kmart or something.

I know that everyone's body is different when it comes to tattoos, so while yours may have taken a week, some people's bodies take a bit longer. I had a friend that took only 2 weeks, and my mum took 4 weeks or so with the ones on her ankles, and longer with the one on her chest.

Is it a possibility that you may be allergic to something in the ink they used?

I got a tattoo on my foot and it healed in a week without pigment cream. i just used petroleum jelly.

You should try something called aquafor (you can find it in the baby aisle at walmart next to the lotions, etc.) That could help the dryness.

I would definitely avoid itching it. It can damage your skin and make the tattoo look rough.

Avoid chlorine and pools. Bathing is fine, it wont hurt it at all. Try to wear open shoes like flats and avoid wearing tight tennis shoes and socks for too long. If it doesnt heal within a week i would call the place you got it done at and ask them. They've probably heard it alllll before c:

After a month and most of the scabbing is gone you can use regular lotion. You can go in the sun and whatever but its a tattoo it will start to fade over time and with to much sun. You are fine to bathe. Only if you think it needs to be touched up do you need to go see the artist.

It's pretty hard to answer your question without seeing your tattoo, but my best advice to you would be to go the the shop where you got it and have them look at it. It may need to be touched up.

short neat nails are nice as well as neat. I dont like long nails because dirt can get under them and it look nasty

its digusting and gross when somebodys nails are all chewed up to the finish.
