Whats the differences between Uk and Germany?

Your standard of living will depend at least partly on what job you have and how much in demand that is in each country, as well as where in the country you live.

Living costs vary a lot in both countries. In the north of the UK housing is quite a bit less expensive than in the south, and housing is a very large proportion of most people's living costs. Some areas of Germany are more expensive than others. It's not easy to generalise.

All western European countries have a pretty good standard of education. We Brits like to moan about ours, but it's still one of the best in the world.

I'd guess there isn't much in it, but I still prefer the UK to Germany, even though I love visiting there!

For a really fair comparison you will need to find somebody who isn't German or British who has lived in both countries and I guess there aren't too many of them around!

Am British but have lived and worked in Germany...The UK is better for just some of the following reasons, although I do LOVE Germany.....

More home ownership

More laid back and relaxed

Better sense of humour

More open to other cultures.....

In Germany healthcare and education ARE second to none.......Cost of living does vary, but seems NOT too bad in relation to income earned.....To buy (which is not the norm) a decent flat in Berlin for example it is VERY reasonable... MUCH,much cheaper than some grotholes in parts of the UK ........

Britain has fairly cheap living costs compared to other places around the world. It also has a free healthcare service called the NHS so you get any sort of medical thing (doctors, hospitals, dentist, medicine) for free which you don't get ANYWHERE else. It's education is great in some areas, but not so much in others. The healthcare is outstanding anywhere around Britain!

Germany is one hour in front of the UK

Britain is softer on immigration than Germany (in fact Britain is the softest in the EU)

Germany has cheaper housing

Faster growing economy

The UK has the best welfare thats why there is a big queue.
