Is common "Social Darwinism" just a cheap criminal attitude, abusing scientific knowledge?
Macciavelli, Nietzsche (with his master morality) and some followers of Darwin discovered a set of social mechanisms, which prepared the path for anti-ethics commonly called Social Darwinism. It boils down to behaving ruthless and cruel, in order to reach social power, and commonly to abolish all social values making peoples' lives comfortable.
Is this not just a cheap abuse of natural laws for criminal attitudes? Is it not like saying: "We have a natural law of gravity, so we're not supposed to build balloons and airplanes!"? Of course we must consider these natural laws, but shouldn't people try to overcome them? And accept that Darwin and the knowledge about Evolution is not the cause of these evil ideologies, and that we don't need to resort to God and religion for ethics.

A Social Darwinian world would be a very cruel world indeed.
I also find the entire concept very wrong. A more brutal/powerful nation does not make that nation better than the others. Ex: when the barbarians descended on ancient Rome and destroyed an empire that had reigned for centuries, they did not prove that they were better than Rome. In fact European civilization suffered after Rome fell.

Machiavelli was dead centuries before Darwin was born, Nietzsche's works were rewritten by his sister to remove his opposition to antisemitism and nationalism.
So called "followers of Darwin" took what they liked out of his books and used that for their own purposes, ignoring the rest. Just like some so-called followers of Jesus do.

You've misunderstood social Darwinism. I won't even start on what you've done to poor old Nietzsche. And Machiavelli! Ah, the poor soul. He'd be turning in his grave.

Off you go.

Of course it was a cheap abuse of science. They used Darwin's observations as rhetoric for their cruelty and exploitation of the working class.
