How does transfering from a two-year college to a 4-year college work?

You would apply to the university as a transfer applicant, providing your transcript from the community college. Often there is a transfer agreement in place and the process is very simple, but that varies per school so the best way for you to find out for sure how the transfer process will work for you is to talk to your school about transfer agreements.

At my community college, they have an agreement with one particular university I am interested in. They automatically accept students from my CC who have a GPA over a certain point. All you have to do is fill out a one page "application" and you're set. The other university I'm interested in does not have a transfer agreement with my CC, so I would have to fill out their application completely and send in transcripts.

I am doing the same thing just when you get to your 2nd year of college you start applying for colleges that let you transfer with all your degrees, and accept your classes. Usually your school will help you with that. Then from there you get accepted and start your 3rd and 4th period of college in a university. Its very simple.
