4 Miles in 35 minutes on Treadmill vs 6 miles 1.5 hours outdoors?

is 4 Miles in 35 minutes on treadmill as good as 6 miles in 1 hour and a half outdoors?

I can walk/jog longer out door because its much more fun, but the problem is, im flat footed so its very painful when i run for about 30 seconds, so my jogging is very limited out doors, and consisting mostly of walking.

However, on the treadmill, I can run for 35 minutes with about only 1 or 2 one minute walk, it bores me to death but no pain at all, which i prefer.

Are treadmill just as efficient as outdoors?

thanks

Tredmills can be just as effective as running outdoors, obviously its not going to be exactly the same but if you change the incline to a slight amount and call that flat it represents running with the wind against you and all the rest is the same you incline for hills and you could go completely flat for running with the wind. You say its painful to run outdoors have you tried getting some special shoes to support your running style ? Theirs many running shoes designed for all types of runners from flat footed to over pronation or supination, they might not be cheap but if gets you running back outdoors its got to be worth it :)?

    Hope i helped.

Well, obviously the 35 minutes on a treadmill is a better time. People who are serious runners don't do the same thing all the time. Sometimes they work on speed. Sometimes they work on distance. Sometimes they do an easy run. When the weather gets warmer, I will probably start to run outside more. I feel like I'm faster on a treadmill because I'm more conscious of my exact speed and I don't use incline on the treadmill whereas when I run outside, if I run on the sidewalk there are hills and I have to go up and down curbs and watch out for bumby sidewalks. I ran on a track once but didn't have a cell phone on me so I couldn't time myself and see how fast I went.

Also, have you looked into getting a sneaker more for your feet? I'm guessing you have but I thought I'd mention it. The sneaker you wear can make a huge difference.

Just as you said it, i think running outdoors is better.

Instead of being cooped up inside, running outside allows oxygen in your body, fresh oxygen. You also get a little chance away from home, and you have fun too!

If you're flat footed, and if it's painful, and you can mostly walk rather than run, it's totally okay! If you think about it, walking is just as benefital and fun as running is.

And plus, being on your treadmill bores you to death. Be outside in the fun fresh air! Even if it mostly consists of walking. Plus, maybe you should create a routine.

A day of walking/running outside and a day of running inside on your treadmill indoors.

    Good Excersise!

maximum persons can stroll a mile approximately that rapid. i might time your mile lower back and double verify. If that's your mile time, do no longer difficulty! you will develop into quicker as you prepare extra and get in extra effective shape. striking now it isn't any longer that stable, yet undergo in techniques you're quicker than truthfully everyone on the settee.
