Under Title 9 legislation, that banned sex discrimination in high school sports, cheering is not considered a sport.
High school cheer leaders have more injuries than any other sport.
Cheering competitions are run by a private corporation for profit since it is not considered a sport and there for does not have actual state run competitions.
That's the only three I can think of right now.
EDIT:You asked for facts not opinion. No where did I state that I think cheering is not a sport.
