How in the name of god do i use tactical defending properly!?

Question

playing fifa all my life, ill say im pretty good, prob da only game im good at lol, but i really cant use this tactical defending at all! im usually a person for playing on legendary and winning nearly every game, but now id be lucky to win 2 games in a row even playing as barca!!!! lol
I cant remember the game ive played where i haven't conceded a goal and i have played alot of games, i really cant take from being very good at the game to being a complete noob!, like i just got beat 7-1 online by this very average player! COM ON!!!!!!
every time they get their striker on the ball near my box they turn my defender inside out so easily and score! :(
Please help me with this defending!

Rule 1. When close to your own box, don't use the sprint button.
You'll find that it's easier for the attacker to walk right past you if you accidentally run past/away from him...
Rule 2. If you use the 2nd player press to defend, make sure the guy you are controlling is marking up or at least trying to win the ball while your other man does the containing.
Rule 3. If you are controlling the player facing the attacker and you have your secondary player containing, hit the switch player button, more often than not, the switch makes the defender that is "facing up" go in for a tackle to win the ball.
Rule 3. If you manage to get close enough to a player with the ball in the middle of the park, hold the push/pull button to wrestle the ball off of him or at least lessen the accuracy of his pass/cross/shot.

I too have struggled with it, learned the hard way, managed to get into division5, but that's probably as far as I will go...
