Why can't I update my computer?

I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop and it can never connect to any update sites whether it be for my antivirus or Windows itself. Every time I try to manually update my computer I click on the link to download and it says the connection has timed out. I've added the sites to my firewall allow list yet it still doesn't work.

Update:

It can't autoupdate because it says that the website that it needs to download from cannot be reached.

    haha dont manually do it. depending on ur antivirus, it'll update automatically, same goes for 7, unless you disabled automatic
