Why would God say that we are vile?
Lots of Christians (and Muslims) say that according to God we are vile sinners, all of us.
If the story of God and Satan is true, it seems more likely that the Bible would have been written by Satan, as it keeps saying how unworthy man is and how he's nothing without 'God'.
If God is love and Satan is Evil, which one demands worship and obedience and constantly reinforces the message that mankind is unworthy?
@Nightmare - I didn't say the Bible, I've haven't read it. I'm just going on what i've seen and heard of the followers of Christianity. "vile nature of sin and our true condition" that was the quote that prompted the question.
@Any Day Now - I'm not actually question that of myself, I don't believe in God. I want you to think about it. Does 'God' have a God complex? And who does the God complex more remind you of, God or Satan?
Again, I'd don't actually believe any of this. I'm just curious to see what Christians would make of it. Whether there is any kind of argument that can be put up that won't get deflected by your shield of faith.

This idea reminds me of my idea, that mean ol' Dan actually won The Battle many millenia ago, and it's He who wrote all those verses. Before anyone say "Oh no..it can't be" , how would you know?

If a person keeps saying it a lot, about us being vile and sinners, then they have some kind of problem. And they are giving God a bad name.
God is demanding nothing from us. He created us and loves us. He wants us to love Him and to treat others as we would like to be treated. That's what he asks and that is not much to ask for. He leaves it up to us to decide.

Although humans were created as perfect, unfortunately, we did not remain that way. Sin entered human life and tainted it. Human beings are capable of great evil-which is vile. While human beings are tainted that way, we are unacceptable to God.
But there is good news! We can become free of that awful taint. Jesus died so that this would be possible for us. Once a person accepts Jesus into their life, our human vileness disappears.

I don't know about being sinners,
but they are vile.
and smell bad too.

God demands what He deserves. He actually is perfect. Satan is imperfect and so are you and I. Why should we praise ourselves for failure to be consistently good?
