What do you think life would be like if writing never been invented?

Great hypothetical question. We would definitely wouldn't be where we are today. Technology and innovation is built upon what has already been done. We write everything down and pass our knowledge onto subsequent generations so that they don't have to start from scratch.

I suppose someone like Edison would come along eventually and invent a recording device, but we would still be hundreds of years behind.

pretty primitive. their are still some tribes of people in the world that while they may have a written language, isnt used too much. look at how their life is, thats your answer.
