panasonic TDA50 programming?
I just added a CO line to a TDA50 phone system for a customer. at least 1 phone recognizes the line, can press the CO button and dial out on the line... while at least 1 phone does not have access to that line. I assume that this is a programming issue. How can I obtain the software or programming instructions to allow the CO line to be accessed from all of the extensions?
@B not quite sure we are on the same page or not... this is a phone system, and this is the 3rd CO line being connected to the system. it is not a 2 line POTS phone where you need 2 pairs connected for the 2nd line to work.. AFAIK both pairs are connected to each phone, unless someone touched something, but again, very doubtful that that would be the cause to this issue..

By rights, I can't give you the software, but I can tell you how to do it. The CO lines are programmed in software and normally by default they are assigned to all phones, you just have to give it buttons. Start from the bottom and press PROG and the lines they should read Single CO 001 002 003 etc. If they don't, it's a simple matter to dial 0 + 001 or 00x and ENTER Simple :-)

Oh, and B? If you don't know what Joe is talking about, it's best to stay quiet. Unless you happen to own a TDA-50 and the software to program it, you look pretty silly. Me? I just happen to have a TDA training certificate and DT-343 on my desk :-)

....I ran into this same problem several times thinking it was a defect of Panasonic. The problem actually is caused by the RJ11 jack itself. If you look at the jack, you will see it is the standard 1 pair (2 wire) configuration. You need a 2 pair (4 wire) jack. Convert the house wire to 4 wire and connect all wires in all the wall jacks to their respective color terminals. That is, if you have the old red, green, yellow and black wires connect them to their respective color terminals at the back of the plug. If you're using the newer blue/bl-w, or/o-w and gr/gr-w wires, connect them to their terminals or connect the bl/b-w to red and green terminals and or/o-w to the yellow and black terminals.
....For some reason it takes Panasonic and AT &T phones 4 wires to properly run these lines.
