This winding up is historic. The bay of Algeciras is difficult to be split into what is Gibraltarian or Spanish space.

The Spanish police and naval gunboats have been scouring the bay for many years to combat people smuggling and contraband, they do a job that the Gibraltar government does not have to pay for, so we put up with it.

The question on who should own Gib has been a difficult one for me as my father was English my Mother Spanish and I am a Gibraltarian.

The Rock was ceded to England via the treaty of Utrecht 1713 and reaffirmed later so it is legal.

The Apes are actually monkeys, when my father took on the job as keeper back in 1930 something there were only 7 or so,further ones were introduced in 1942,by management the numbers were kept down to about 30 in 1960 when he retired, there are now over 200.

The spanish should not whinge to much about ownership as they have two small colonies just over the water in morocco at Cueta and melilla,no sign of them giving those back.

The people of Gibraltar are a free people. They have chosen and voted to remain British. There is nothing the Spanish government or the EU or anyone else can do about it.

Spain is a broke and corrupt former dictatorship which is still full of the same people who caused all their problems in the first place.

Seeing that Gibraltar is part of Spain and is occupied by a population of colonists (and humans) who do not belong there but in Africa (and other parts), the Spaniards have every right to their waters. The British garrison is an occupying force and we have to thankful that Spain is a peaceable nation and has tolerated our intrusion. Joder!
