On probation and need to do 25 hours of community service Anything other than court-assigned service count?

I had an open-intox passenger citation.  I'm supposed to be getting married June 10th in the Caribbean but my officer told me I can't go unless I complete the 25 hours of service this month.  I don't think they'll be able to assign me fast enough, but I do a ton of volunteer work anyway.  Will any of it count towards that?  Seems really stupid that helping people in a poor community won't count, they want me to do service in one of the richest counties in the nation, instead...  Okay that was just me ranting!  :)

Maybe, but you have to get pre-approved for the volunteer work to count.  The probation office should tell you how, or if, you can do that.

If I were your probation officer...I'd sign off on those hours if you guaranteed at least 3 Best Answers from you per week... Keeping you away from the city's general population... That's my way of serving the community!

This is something you have to ask your probation officer about. Usually, you can do it but have to provide specific documentation for your hours. Your probation officer may even have the forms for you. But, you will have to call and ask your PO.

You cant use previous work you have done to count towards it. An idea of where to do work is your local library. There shouldnt be any really hard work.
