Whats the worst that could happen for stealing a tip jar?

I hope you get caught. Did you ever think that the employees maybe DEPEND on those tips more than you do?

Depending on the amount, it could be larceny. That violates your probation.

The worst that could legally happen would be charge of petty larceny against you ... conviction almost certain.

Violation of probation hearing - highly likely you would lose that, added time in juvenile hall.

That subway will probably ban you for life (and since you stole from the employees directly ... they will remember you!) - you won't even be allowed in the building.

You "missed out on" the beating you might have got if the employees had caught you stealing from them. Lucky you!

Stealing a tip jar isn't a felony (to the person who answered before) but it would probably violate your probation and send you (back) to jail for somewhere near the maximum penalty for theft in your state. However, If you haven't gotten caught yet, 90% chance that you won't at all.

So worse case scenario, you go to jail for several years.

Now since you're on probation, any amount of money will most likely lead to some jail time.

Smaller amounts of money, the worse thing that can happen is some guy who works at subway and his friends beat the living crap out of you every time they see you for the rest of your life.

thats larceny kind of like robbery but less your 15 and on probation so at worst 1-2 years in prison

That's larceny - a theft. You're a common thief and a criminal. You can get arrested and charged, that's your second strike. One more, and get charged, then you're in prison for a very long time.

Get some self respect. Look yourself in the mirror and see a good person looking back, not a common criminal.
