Primary or secondary source?
Could someone tell me whether a book that contains interviews and the script of a film is a primary or secondary source (and a brief justification would be appreciated!).
Thanks

I see no reason why the definition would be different in the UK and the US and I am not aware that it has changed since I graduated from a US university.
This book would be a primary source so long as it contains the verbatim texts or long verbatim portions of the interviews because these are the exact words spoken by the persons interviewed. Likewise, the film script is a primary source. It is an original work of art from which a film was made.
You do not have to do the interviewing work. Magna Carta is a primary source.
A transcript of a speech made in the House of Commons in nineteenth century is a primary source. You do not have to have been present at the signing of the document or the giving of the speech. A primary source does not have to be your original research. It may be the exact words of the document, speech, interview, etc.

a primary source is a book, tool, weapon, wrting, scripts from the past time period.
a secondary source is the oppisite of it it's a biography, or an encylapedia, webpage or a model of something. (say a nodel airplane it is a miniature size thing representing an airplane from the past.)

Secondary, because you are not conducting the interview yourself.
anything from a book, web source article is a secondary source
hope this helps :)

That is secondry source, every thing which is already recorded considered secondry source, primary source is that where you directly explore the information by intervewing or survey etc.
