of the albums that you would call "perfect"...?

how many of them were released while you were already a fan of the band? Did you think they were that great at the time of release, or did it take a while to set in?

(by "perfect", I mean, as close to perfect as you think an album can come. This isn't about the semantics of the word "perfect". Substitute "5-star", "10/10", "classic" or whatever else if you so please)

I'm all over the place here:

Bee Thousand - Guided by Voices

    Achtung Baby- U2

    Harvest- Neil Young

    Kind of Blue- Miles Davis

    Eat a Peach- Allman Brothers

Houses of the Holy - Led Zeppelin

Exile on Main Street- Rolling Stones

    Rubber Soul- The Beatles

Many of these (the older ones) were discovered by plundering my step-father's vinyl record collection back when I was in college.

Classics are albums that have lasting appeal and differences the sport for the extra desirable. Like while Rakim first began putting complicated rhyme schemes into the sport, and while tupac extra emotion and political activism into mainstream rap and drew interest to the government to how undesirable it grew to become into interior the ghettos. truthfully an album that will develop the conventional of the form. And what the hell are you asserting? Underground artists would be for sure extra desirable lyrically? only with the aid of fact they are youthful and becoming and characteristic clean rhymes does not propose they'd beat Nas' creativity and valuable lyrics.

The release I consider perfect, F#A# Infinity by Godspeed You! Black Emperor was released back in 1999. In 1999, I was listening to Kidz Bop still. I wasn't a fan of the band until my freshman year of high school (which was last year).

Most of my favourite albums are from either before I was born or was very young. There have been a few in my lifetime, from bands I was into.

The Smiths - 'The Queen Is Dead'

    U2 - 'The Joshua Tree'

    Bob Dylan - 'Oh Mercy'

    Nirvana - 'Nevermind'

    David Bowie - 'Outside'

    Radiohead - 'OK Compter'

Most of them I liked straight away.

I think that in most cases for me the 'perfect' album is what got me into the band in the first place. It wasn't too long after their release, but it was afterward nonetheless.

The only one I can think of is Morphine's 'Cure for Pain'.

I wasn't a fan or even heard of Johnny Rebel before I heard his album, but I have to say that it's the closest anyone's ever come to perfect.

"The Great Southern Trendkill" and "Far Beyond Driven" were Panteras greatest albums. Pantera was long gone after i listened to them, but it didnt take long for me to get into it. when i first heard it, it was "this **** is pretty baddass and i can head bang to this, and each song has potential"..now its "i cant get enough". i can eat and sleep to those records now, thats how much a part of me theyve become. heil metal 10/10

Most of the albums I consider 'perfect' I grew up listening to, long after the groups had disbanded/died.

Perhaps one? But, to be fair, most of the bands that I listen to already had extensive discographies by the time that I began listening to them,
