Am I not going into a college?
Im a sophmore now and i have a 2.8 GPA. First semester is almost over and im about to get finals. Does this basically mean that i ruined my chances of getting into a good college or do I still have time to get better and have a chance? Im hoping to get into a UC and last year was the same. Now things are becoming more impotant and i want to get far better grades and i even got loads of tutors. Please help!

Of course you still have a chance at college.
GPA does matter. But these days, colleges understand that life happens.
GPA alone does not matter anymore.
You have 2 more years of high school to bring your grades up.
Get at least a 3.0 -3.5 your chances for getting scholarships are better.
Focus on your grades and focus on getting a good score on the ACT/ SAT and you'll find yourself looking at many college options.

2.8 is really low for high school i had a 3.6 in highschool and my gpa is a 2.5 in college, college is a million tines harder and they count gpa differently

you can always go to community college then transfer...it will save you about 15,000 dollars too
