Do you think pledges for the future are important?

Yes i think pledges are important, though they work in a similar way to a promise. They can be easily broken.

I feel that so long as you can keep to a pledge it will work. If there are a number of people sharing the same passion as you, it helps to form groups to fight for the cause. This way you have the help and guidance from people from a range of backgrounds. The more knowledge you can gather about the subject the easier it will be to get the message across.

In short, we should view the problem from all angles before wading in. Sometimes it can be more trouble than it's worth to get involved.

They will help. Normally all planning is for a few years ahead. Only this way we can plan for say 100 years ahead of time. I am one who beleives we should pledge to take humans ( or their later forms) out of the Solar System before the Sun explodes.
