Has your Dog ever had a cold?

Seriously- I have seen on here, people answering that dogs do not get colds... Well

Mine has the sneezes and fever. No its not Kennel Cough. We went to the vet, aspirin and liquids- no congestion so his lungs are clear, We go back in 2 days if he continues to be under said weather. Then the vet might prescribe antibiotics!!

So has this ever happened to your dog?

What kind of antibiotics were prescribed for your dog?

dogs can't get the common cold from humans, so that may be what some people are referring to. they can, however, get colds of their own. they can get Kennel Cough (which is what my pup had at one point), canine parainfluenza, pneumonia, and distemper. those are some of the most common types of respiratory illnesses dogs can get. those are dogs versions of the cold. i would suggest taking the antibiotics like the vet described, and see how he's doing in a few days or week. best wishes!

Its is true that dogs do not get colds.... if your dog is showing any symptoms similar to a cold or flu then it normally means it is very very ill and could die without treatment.

I would take your dog back to the vet or to another vet for a second opinion as it may be seriously ill.

Quelle(n): My uncle the vet... gota love having a vet in the family LOL!!
