Do you have Home remades?

Most know that regular rubbing alcohol will take off label and sticker glue as good as goof-0ff will.

And that Coke will eat the rust off of anything! But, I see long threads on "how to waterproof boots" with all these expensive mink oils and waxes. Let me tell ya, I wear leather boots at work and I'm on concrete all day. The leather dries out and starts pinching and rubbing my feet. Every now and then I spray them with WD-40 or any other thin oil and it instantly softens (& waterproofs) the boot and makes my day soooooo much better. Of course, I'm not looking for a nice shine or a fashion statement. I just want to be comfortable without spending a fortune. Don't you?

    Grand-paws homemade "Leather Butter"

Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts linseed oil. Apply with a rag, let it soak in, then rub it dry. It works great on tool belts, knife sheaths, boots and gloves.

It will darken lighter leathers(just the thing to make that new tool belt look old),

The only warning, let the vinegar evaporate overnight before putting your tools in the belt. The vinegar will react with metal.
