Medical ? about a dog bite?
I know I need to go back to the ER I was just wanting to know if I could prolong by a day or two because there is no one here to babysit my dogs.
I was bit by my neighbors dog two days ago I went to the ER. They cleaned the bite and gave e a pain pill but didnt prescribe any meds or anything. They didnt stitch the wound but they did put sutures I guess that what u call it its like little strips of white tape???
Anyway the question now is its been two days and a real foul odor is coming from the wound and when i change my dressing it looks yellowish and red. The docs did tell me the wound would drain so I dont want to run to the emergency room again if this is normal any advice?
Your absolutely right I do think its infected I see yellow pus inside and the area around my wound is noticeably warmer than my other leg

my child got bit by a family dog last week- took him to the er-they cleaned it and took xrays.
The doctor explained that they would not be able stich it -incase of any bacteria getting trapped in the wound, so they left it open, and cleaned it. If the wound is starting to smell- i dont think its a good idea to wait
