DO u think Burn a Quran day is Ethical or Fair?

I do not think any Muslim inside the United States would and should do anything but they should watch it nearby holding a vigil holding hands with many other people and make sure every news organization RECORDS this event and airs it as it occurs. The faces of fear mongers and bigotry must be shown and these are the people that are going to be representing a portion of politicians and the likes of islamaphobes.. They will watch armed men about 2000 with guns burn Qurans in a Church (christian) . I think we now know who is the terrorist of the developed world, vs one from the underdeveloped ones.

So the so called "civil" is now the opposite. Actually, I am hoping they do this and get tons of publicity and people who are against the burning just stop stare without saying a word with their arms crossed.

How can it be fair? If you burn the Quran, you are disrespecting all of the 1.57 billion Muslims, not just the tiny fraction that call themselves Muslims and go around blowing people up. This is racism, honestly. You don't judge all the people of a religious faith by one tiny group, and so you don't disrespect them all by burning a book they believe sacred.

No one is encouraging burning of the USA flag, and anyway, since when did the USA flag become holy and sacred? How can anyone encourage people to burn anyone else's holy book? It's not like the Muslims get together to burn the bible or Torah together.

How is it fair? That is extreme racism and just plain unjustified. Maybe they mean to target Bin Laden and yes he is a criminal but not all muslims are terrorists! That would be like the world laughing at americans everyday because George Bush is a retard, or because you have some rednecks all of America is a backwards society. Don't give people a reason to hate you, and by burning a sacred text you are doing just that.

Exactly when has any church been ethical of fair? Have we not missed episodes of South Park because someone got offended that Muhammad was going to show up? Wasn't a famous film director just killed for making an anti Muslim movie about women's rights? (Sorry, can't recall his name. YouTube it.) Has the catholic church been hiding pedophiles and bombers for centuries? Come on. When has any religion ever been Ethical or fair. It is standard operating procedure as far as what I have seen of religions and religious people.

Well as long as they buy these Korans and they have permits to burn off then legally it is covered under freedom of speech.

I think if you want freedom of speech and freedom of religion then you have to allow things like this even if it is unpleasant.

I think it silly to ever burn books, but I support their right to do so.

I think it is disgusting, even thought they do have the right to do it. You know, I believe in God and Jesus, and I pray in my own way. But it's almost like do not call me a Christian because I refuse to be thought of as one of the extremest fundies that are out there. Gotta say, I know a lot of atheists and have seen many on this board, they are more what a Christian should be than the people that call themselves one.
