Cheers

Would like to see Petra, the Red Sea and the desert.....

    I'm Jordanian

It depends on where you're flying from, what you would like do in Jordan (what sort of tourism)

There's ALOT to do in Jordan, and it's all alot of fun.

People are nice, all of us speak english, many are fluent, so you are not going to have a problem in communicating with the people.

If you have further questions email me.

    EDIT:

    Petra is great,

do you wana see Red sea or DEAD sea?

Red sea is amazing, but the Dead sea is exotic, there's nothing like it in the world.

The Desert is like Wadi Rumm

you should reserve your hotels and transportation before you leave UK, try a tourism office in Jordan (google one, I'm not familiar with any)

The ticket is about 500 JD (I think) (around 450 pounds)

try royal jordanian or british airways if you're looking for cheap airfair, I prefer BA to RJ on my trips to london. (I usually fly from Qatar to London tho)

the flight is 5 hours.. not too long.

if you're going to Petra, I recommend the hotel 'Teybat Zaman' it used to be a genuine village before they bought it from the natives and turned the houses into hotel rooms:

it's 3-4 km away from Petra Archeological Park (the one you're going to see)

if you're going to Dead sea, I recommend the moven pick.. but dont stay there more than a day, you will get bored.

if you're going to Red sea (aka Aqaba) I last stayed at the radison there, it's nice...

in Wadi rumm there are nice camps you can stay in, make sure you watch the sunset and the sunrise, they're amazing.

I'm not a fan of the desert tho, so I cant advise more than that in Wadi rumm, but young ppl love it there for some reason.

all in all, bring 1500 JD (1350 pounds) and you will be MORE than fine... actually this number is a lil excessive, it's just that I dont want you being short on money for any reason =)

(try talking to toursim offices in jordan)
