Does the bible mention anything about experiencing heaven or "the kingdom of god" while being on earth?

Luke 17 "The kingdom of God is within you"

It says the same thing in the Gospel of Thomas.

You might be able to consider the revelation to John as experiencing the kingdom of heaven...although that book of the bible is way beyond my understanding.

However, I do know that orthodox christians (and possibly catholics) regard their saints as having reached the kingdom of heaven here on earth. So far as I know, there is no biblical passages to back this up, but I have not yet finished reading the bible.

The Coming of the kingdom of God

Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, ''The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'here it is,' or 'there it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Joel 2:28

And basically the whole book of revelations was written by someone who saw Heaven and Hell and the end times while still alive.

In deep prayer or meditation we are freed from outward things and turn to God then ,without words we speak and hear answers from God (Manifestation of God). It can happen if we attain to a truly spiritual condition ..but why many cannot achieve is because ..If one cannot love the person who he can see immaterial of race religion or status how can he love God who he cannot see.

Heaven and hell are just definitions the prophets use to justify reward and punishment.

As darkness is the lack of light and visa versa.

We have a soul and the purpose of us is to make it worthy of Gods sight. Just like when we were in our mother’s womb, we had legs ears and hands but it was meant to be used in this world not in the womb like wise our soul is for use in the next worlds ...that place is sanctified from time and place.

From the moment the soul leaves the body after death it remains in the degree of purity to which it evolved during its life in the physical body and is plunged in the Ocean of Gods mercy there on it evolution is spiritual: This is the approaching to God.

The degree of purity means that those who have turned their face towards God while on earth and followed His ways and His laws will be more blessed .The difference and distinction between men will be realized beloved ones will meet and those of same station shall converse but not like on earth there is in spiritual sense. All mysteries and truths will be made know .There it is a world of perfections. We are dual in nature. We are both like an animal and spiritual we call this the lower nature and the higher nature of man. With one we live in this world and with the other we approach God.

The fundamental basis of man is to let his higher nature to dominate is lower nature...the lower nature is ..anger. revenge greed. lust cursing...backbiting. hurting another..etc...the higher nature is being kind ..helpful..loving.. generous ..all these are attributes of God..

When one turns to His manifestation and puts his trust and faith in His manifestation

The rewards of the other world are peace, spritual graces, various spiritual gifts and meeting of God and His prophets of past and present.

I the same note not following the ways of God the punishment

is being deprived of the blessings and bounties of God there he who is deprived of these is considered as dead and even your love ones will shun you

In simple terms in this world we have a will to do good or bad when we do good we go to a higher degree when we do bad we drop a few degrees. There we have no will we are at the mercy of God.

Now look at it this way we have an inbuilt thermometer in us with the readings from +100 to -100. when we are born we are at 0 . Along the span of our life when we do good deeds or follow the laws of God we go higher towards +100 when we do bad we go lower. At the time of death where the last reading is will determine our faith in the next spiritual plain sanctified from time and place. Get the point .The in built meter is in the soul.

When Jesus cast out demons and set people free, He said this was an example of the Kingdom of God overcoming the Kingdom of Satan.......

"Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. All the people were astonished and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons."

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. "

Matthew 12:22-28

Jesus said being born again was the way to enter the Kingdom of God. Peter wrote his First letter to those who were born again (I Peter 1:3,23) John wrote to those who were born again (see his First Letter, where he mentions this often). Paul wrote to those who were born again (see Titus 3)

Paul said this writing to believers.........

"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves"

Colossians 1:13 notice the verb tense - he has brought us into the Kingdom. The moment one is born again, he enters the Kingdom of God.

"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power."

I Corinthians 4:20 the context again makes it clear he was talking about a present reality.

"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Romans 14:17 again - present reality.

the book of revelation,john is even shown the throne of god.(whatever that is)
