Where can I find large quanities of copper ?

Old CRT TVs and monitors have it in the deflection yoke on the back of the tube and in the flyback transformer. Don't go after it unless you know how to discharge them. Old, heavy microwave ovens have big transformers inside that need to be disassembled to get the copper out. There's also miscellaneous wire inside everything. None of this pays unless you're setting up a true recycling operation where you can deal with all the rest of it, though.

If you want to break up large motors you get steel, aluminum and copper. It's a lot of work, but if you can set up to do it you might be able to deal with a scrapyard to buy the motors and sell back the separated metals. When a big motor has been stripped, the shell has iron inside with an aluminum jacket shrunk around it. Beat it with a sledgehammer and it'll split. The ends are aluminum, but you need to press the bearings out. They don't want aluminum if it has steel attached. Copper? There's a bunch of it there, but you're on your own. Get a big saw. You get the highest price for enameled wire if it's been burned and rinsed and free of connectors and solder.
