Can you add effects to your guitar while recording on a computer, without using pedals?
I like to write songs on guitar, and recording makes songwriting better imo. I plug into my pc using a MIDI (M-Audio Fast Track Pro). When I play my guitar the sound comes out of my speakers on my computer. Is there any way to add real-time (not after) effects (Gain, Distortion, Equalizer) to my guitar? and record it that way as well?

Yes. BOSS has one. And maybe Guitar rig has one too. I am not sure because I haven't tried it yet, I just heard it from youtube. Goodluck! :)
