You will be in Pune during monsoon. Expect to get wet / drenched and at some times you will experience delays due to clogged traffic.

Pune is a cultural capital of Maharashtra. There are several places which you can explore and learn about history and culture of Pune.

Kelkar museum is a place where you can find lot of exhibits and learn a lot of history. Shaniwar wada ( palace of Peshvas ), Aga Khan Palace and War Museum are must visits. Parvati hill, Kasba ganapati temple, Saras baug, Snake Park are famous spots. You can visit Osho Ashram, too.

Several forts around the city. Sinhagad is easily reachable. Keep half a day ( try evenings) for this fort. If you have spare time pay a visit to Shivneri, the birth place of King Shivaji and nearby Lenyadri temple ( one of the Ashtavinayakas).

Karle caves ( ancient buddhist caves ) are near Lonavala and worth a visit for a slice of history.

Around Pune, Jejuri Khandoba temple is worth a visit. Few of the Ashtavinayaka temples are nearby Pune, too.

You can visit Film and Television Institute of India, one of the best in India.

Hire a private vehicle for places around Pune. In city you can travel by autorickshaw or public bus.
