cures for oily sensitive skin?

I take a B-12 injection (I've heard possibilities that this can cause it?) I've also stopped taking birth control last June so my husband and I can try to have a baby. As a teen and through my 20's I'd never had an acne problem and now all of a sudden I do and it's so embarrassing! I've tried a few products (even for sensitive skin) and my skin has an allergic reaction. It's very oily so I make sure to wash it twice a day but I wonder if I should wash it in the middle of the day. After a couple of hours my skin is very oily again. I use a combination/oily Oil of Olay soap and I like it. I follow it with an astringent for sensitive skin and it helps but not much.

So I'm wondering if instead of targeting acne if I should try to target the oily face. Home remedies or *cheap* products would be most greatful. I'm not in a position to spend a great deal of money and I don't have insurance but I may be able to arrange a Dr.'s appointment if it seemed promising, however I'd wind up paying for the prescription on my own.

Thanks!

From what you said, I believe you are not moisturizing, am I right? Your skin NEEDS oil to keep it moisturized, supple and looking normal. If you wash all of the oil away, your skin will "panic" and produce even MORE oil, which is probably why your skin gets so oily. Try and find an oil free line and use products only from that line, which ensures all the ingredients are balanced with each other and won't cause any damage to your skin.

Whatever you do, don't wash 3 times a day, it will only make it worse. I would suggest using blotting papers through the day. I know Clean & Clear makes them, but generic brand will also do. That removes any excess oil without completely drying out your skin (which would result in extra oil in the long run).

I read an article about women and their natural home remedies. This lady from India or Iran (I can't remember) used chickpea flour to make her skin nice and soft. She would keep a sealed container in the shower, put some flour in her hand, add water and form a thick paste. She then rubbed it over her face and it absorbs the oil but leaves your skin moisturized. I tried it and it works! Chickpea flour is really cheap, especially in bulk food stores.

    Good luck!

Have you ever heard of the expression 'less is best'? What works for Jane down the street may not work for you. It seems like you're trying products, that is triggering your acne. Products for sensitive skin, or dermatologist tested, doesn't mean anything! Or products 'not tested on animals', or organics. The FDA still gets complains from users with allergies. Discontinue those you've tried, since they are not working out for you. Your body was also trying to get used to not having the BCP, so it's going into shock. Washing your face from oil & pollution should improve, but don't cover it up by using other stuff. Even rinsing plain water could do the trick and let your face rest. I get one tiny zit or none per month, and I use powder make up and I use Bath & Body gel for my face & body when I take a shower, using a wash cloth. You'll get 12 replies here and 12 solutions. When you're getting more acne now than before, it's time to give your face a rest. It is crying for help. The main thing is to keep your face dry. Blot with a tissue or hanky, that's another reason why handkerchiefs were invented, and they're not just for blowing your nose.

Well for oily skin, ice can actually help that! ice helps close up the pores therefore excreting less oils. For sensitive skin, try Clean and Clear. It's what i've been using since the 4th grade and it never has let me down. It cleans my face like no other cleanser. For breakouts, believe me, toothpaste works. At first it'll get redder and bigger but that's how a pimple starts to heal. After a few days, the pimple will disappear completely.
