Hi, if you looking for a quieter bird I would not recomend an Amazon at all. When Amazons become hormonal they chage beyond belief, become aggressive , destructive & very, very loud.

Be careful as a bird that seems socialised may change once in a new home. The dont take well to moving around from home to home & may not accept their new family. It can take months of work to earn a birds trust even it has been well socialised. I would recomend a Senegal or Conure for an inexperienced owner. Go for a parent raised bird rather tham hand reared, they are psycholocically steadier, less dependant & less likely to feather pluck. A good breeder will let you spend time with the bird before bringing it home. I dont recomend buying at a bird fair as the seller eill be long gone regardless of wether you need advice or not. Every parrot is different go for a bird that will accept your scedule . Research species for life span, cage sizes, diet, behaviour e.c.t.
