May i force a webservice to delete my personal data permanently?

I have just asked this service to reactive my account for personal reasons, becuase it wasnt possible to makethe personal changes myself.

Anyways.

Now i am back on the site, but the customer service told me this: Your account is now reactivated. Please do not request your account be

removed or permanently closed as we will deny any such future request.

I have to say, that they only deactivated my account before, so there never was a possibility to deleted it.

Is this what the US Law says, or is there any paragraph which gives me the right to tell them to delete my account?

I am from Germany, but the service is located in the US.

I would be happy if you could help me.

Update:

Its like a paywebsite.

You pay for the content, if u want to see something.

Would you be so kind, and compose a sample email for me?

My english is not that good.

Update 2:

trai, they have my creditcard information, and literally all the info about my adress and so on.

If the account doesn't involve a line of credit, you can't force them to close the account. You can remove any lines of credit connected to it by contacting that account holder. You can remove your connection to the account by changing your contact info, in this case, most likely your email address.

But the info you voluntarily gave them is theirs to keep, if they wish.

EDIT: Contact the bank or credit union that holds the credit card account. They can block the site from any future electronic transfers.

You can't make them throw away your address, but you can return anything they send you at their expense (by crossing off your address and the bar code, and writing "return to sender"), which will make them stop.
