Is the ocean really that dangerous?

Sharks are very rare to find, and very very rarely attack. In fact, more people visit the hospital for biscuit related injuries than people who have been attacked by a shark - yes, a biscuit what you eat :P

Sharks will only attack a human if they feel intimidated, a human is bleeding or they're very hungry, and that is extremely rare.

Jellyfish may be a problem, but as they are easy to spot and don't more fast at all (they move with the oceans currents), they shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Just apply warm water and vinegar if you're stung by a jellyfish, although odds are you won't be stung.

Don't touch a jellyfish, just avoid a jellyfish if you see one.

its not that bad but jellyfish don't even move they are just floating and move with the current of the sea just don't touch them what ever you do, and sharks don't attack humans unless the human attacks them although the attacks on humans caused by sharks are normally mistakes because surfers laying on surf boards with there arms out looks sort of like a seal so the sharks go to attack it because they eat seals.

No I don't think so... Of course, you have to be careful, but usually animals will stay away from humans.
