i gave my son who's now 2yrs old food early on like 2.5months. I checked with his pedi 1st. he was a really big baby and was consuming alot of formula. He's still a good size his dad is a litl over 6ft and im just under 5ft. It didnt constipate him or make him sick at all. and at 3 months he was wearing 9mo clothing & at 4months could no longer fit in his infant carseat.

My baby is 5 and a half months and still exclusively breastfed. My first started solids at about 4 and a half or 5 months, which is actually early. The current reccommendation is to wait until 6 months. And 3 months is definitely too young.

3 months is way to early to start giving him solids. My daughter will be four months next week, she shows signs that she is ready to start solids but I think waiting 6 months is the best. Just ask your ped, they would know better than any of us :)

Some babies are different. But usually around 6 months :)

It's generally accepted that it is not a good idea to introduce complementary foods to infants 6 months and under.
"Pediatricians and parents should be aware that exclusive breastfeeding is sufficient to support optimal growth and development for approximately the first 6 months of life and provides continuing protection against diarrhea and respiratory tract infection. Breastfeeding should be continued for at least the first year of life and beyond for as long as mutually desired by mother and child."
Unique needs or feeding behaviors of individual infants may indicate a need for introduction of complementary foods as early as 4 months of age, whereas other infants may not be ready to accept other foods until approximately 8 months of age. "
While your son may show interest in other foods, exclusive breastfeeding is likely best for him at this point. Introducing other foods at this point may affect his intake of breastmilk, which could cause problems with him getting all of his nutrients, which the breastmilk is adequately providing.
Good luck to you!

6 months. Current research shows and AAP/WHO recommendations state that it is best to wait until 6 months to introduce anything other than breast milk/formula.

well, first, his size doesn't indicate how ready his internal organs are ; we started at 5.5 mos when the doc said too; i would ask the ped about it....that is extremely young to start any kind of solids....
