Christians, we are called the body of Christ. Have you ever felt like the middle finger? Please read details?
When you have done everything you can to help a loved one who does know Jesus Christ but is choosing to go down the wrong path that you have walked before, and that person is trying to inject drama into your life, have you ever just wanted to say 'Screw you, I have problems of my own!'
How do you deal with it?
@footy - it actually came to me when my sister-in-Christ was telling me I needed to keep being good to this person because I am part of the body of Christ. I just said, 'Well, I am the middle finger.' Sometimes even Christians have witty moments. God bless.
FYI - it is my niece.

You can not change the person friend, change comes from within and God is a mind changer, a thought knower and a heart regulator. When you have done all that you can do, you remember: "Peace be still, know that I am God." you just stand. You see, you have done your part and that is all you can do. We have to leave situations and persons like this in the Hands of the Father. What you can do now is Pray and leave your petition with God and that is all. Know that He has a plan and a divine timeline. He is moving right now. He is an "on time God." Remember it is not your will, so when you pray again for your loved one, say if it is your will Father, I ask it in the name of Jesus and leave it alone. When you are questioned later on about what is going on, just say, Know that I have done what I can, but change does not come from me, this is much bigger than me so I have given this to the Father. He always knows best.
Take comfort that you did do as you should and there is nothing more you can possibly do but pray.
God has this all in control. Remember 1 Cor. 10 : 13. It tells us that God will not allow us to be tempted past what we can bear and in trouble He will always show us a way out. This applies directly to what you see happening with your loved one.
You should not feel like a middle finger and No I have never felt that way. Why? I am one in a many membered body just as you are. stop kicking yourself.

I used to be a Christian. Had I been given a penny every second time I thought that about someone, I'd be rich by now.
Sometimes you have to leave people be. To each his own. We do not know what truly is there for us when our time is up in these bodies or on this earth or in this plane or as humans.
According to you Christians, God gave us all free will, correct? If they choose not to believe what you do or what I do, it isn't our place to impose our religious beliefs on them.
Just leave it alone. Let them follow their hearts, and you follow yours.

You know what you have to do but will not do it. Would you feel good if l told you what a wonderful thing you are doing by standing by your man or would you want the hard truth but l wonder if you can handle it?
You are not his mother, you are his girlfriend, you cannot change him, you can only change yourself and Jesus has nothing to do with you not wanting to see the truth that is right in front of you. Do you think it is time for you to walk down your path and for your boyfriend to walk down his path? After we all have free will..It is time for you to move on girl. I say girl because a lady would of been gone already.

As Christians, we are the body of Christ, no doubt about it. But not everyone is going to be willing to see the sacrifice the same as you or I, and in some cases it's simply better to "shake the dust off your feet and walk away." Even when that includes walking away from stubborn loved ones.

Enabling will kill someone just the same. Allow that person to reach their own low point. They are God's child and He will take care of them. So, yes. Got to know when to let them go. I am going through that with my daughter and am raising my grand daughter because she is in jail. God is good all the time.

if this person is under 18 ,you've got a problem,if over,18 ,you'll ask them to "please Leave. dont have enough info .I think its more likely that before you elivate them ,they will pull you down.Get out of the way.the best thing sometimes for us to do is to pray that God help that person, touch that persons heart, that they would understand the error of thier ways.reading the bible is ALWAYS the right thing to do.and your right ,you do have your own problems ,if you feel a strange bondage to this person you must pray with all your might that God free you of this bondage.pray for wisdom,Jesus said"lift up your voice for wisdom"!!cry out to Him!!!He will in no way reject you .

BTDT. I guess I just remember the ones who were there for me and didn't let go.
There may come a time when you have to draw a line in the sand, though. It isn't fair for the other person to drag you down with them.

You can't make other people's choices for them. There comes a time when you simply have to let go and hope for the best.
