Why would not the falling soldiers in Fort Hood receive the Purple heart?
There were in act of duty and they were killed by a terrorist in what considered an act of war. Why wouldn't Obama accept the fact this was a terrorist act? "Allah o akbar" has always been used when Muslims are attacking on in the verger of attack.
Pooh Bear, take a hike you are one of the terrorists too...yes this was a terrorist act and its very clear..."allah o akbar" what is else you want?

This is being tried by the Army under the UC MJ which does not have any provisions against terrorism and treason, so this is a simple multiple homicide trial.
You can be tried in civilian courts for terrorists acts and only tried by Congress for treasonous acts, even though this act was a premeditated act in both cases.
It has come to lite that not only did he have contact with al Awlaki, a radical iman who is considered an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2001 attacks, but also has had contact in Pakistan.
Unfortunately, the UC MJ turns out to be quite convenient for the Obama Administration, because during the trial, terrorism and treason won't be mentioned, and he will be convicted only of multiple murder, and those politically inclined to not view this as a terrorist act will say that he wasn't a terrorist, just as O.J. supporters said he was innoncent after that rediculous verdict.
I think that if we could communicate with the dead at Ft Hood, most would call their deaths as a terrorist/treasonous act perpetrated by an American against Americans for religious reasons!
It would be interesting to poll the survivors and see if they consider this a terrorist act.
Under the rules for the Purple Heart, I don't think that there is any provision that would allow these fallen soldiers the Purple Heart.
They were not on foreign soil and the biggest deterrent is that Hasan is not an enemy, so even if this was considered a terrorist act, he's not technically an enemy.
Personally, I think that anyone who tosses grenades in to a tent full of Americans or who attacks undefended Americans at an army base is an enemy.

Terrorism- the use of force or treats to intimidate, etc, esp. as a political policy. Terrorist doesn't represent certain religion, race, gender, etc.
Terrorist act can be of any reason, any types of person ie; nuts, being bullied, de range, sick physically or mentally, a religious fanatics, or anyone that loses their hopes, jobs, etc. Their temper can explodes anywhere, any place, @ any time.
Purple heart was supposed to be given for combatants in time of war for heroism and self sacrifices to save someone's lives. Ft. Hood was not considered a combat zone...

by way of fact they have not declared it a terrorist attack. What terrorist team did he belong to ? There are regulations as to what constitutes a terrorist attack, so some distance, they don't have sufficient information to make a variety that this exchange right into a terrorist attack. provider contributors are authorized a purple heart if injured for the duration of a terrorist attack. IE: the provider contributors injured or killed on 9/11, have been offered the purple heart.

They may have been on active duty at the time, but they were not in combat and they were on US soil at the time. Those are at least two of the qualifications necessary for a purple heart.

The purple heart is awarded for being injured during combat. This wasn't combat.
This also wasn't an act of terrorism. I really wish people would stop calling that. Take a look at a dictionary, and now tell me how this was a terrorist act.
Just because the guy happened to be a Muslim doesn't make him a terrorist.
Are you a member of the KKK just because you're Christian?
