How could a perfect God create an imperfect world?
I know its been asked, I discovered when I Googled it. But it needs more though.Don't fall back on ancient doctrines use original thinking. Its a philosophical question. Once you classify it as a religious question, you've lost it.
If you fall back on the doctrine that we were created in God's image, then the conclusion God is imperfect. Then you need to determine the nature of God. Is it separate from the universe, or is it the universe?

God DID create a perfect world and man screwed it up real fast.

Well there isn't a god so the world is as perfect as it is, a perfect paradise for some, and a world of sin to others.
But to answer your question more directly, consider the ridiculous myth of Noah. You'd think a perfect designer/creator would create a world and society that runs like clockwork. But by the time Noah came around it was all going so awry, god had no choice but to drown all his beloved children and start all over again. And what is worse than claiming to be perfect when you are not? Why pushing the responsibility of your failures on others. In the Noah myth, god blamed us dumb clucks humans for "turning out too sinful." It had nothing to do with how he created us apparently....

Ah, you have it all figured out haven't you? Well, my finite minded friend, in the beginning all was perfect, yes, even satan. He was an angel after all. Then he decided that, well, he could think and reason as well as God, so why not challenge God, why not be God? And that was the first step he took, much like the step you're taking now. Then everything became imperfect. Our egotism and selfishness created a cruel, imperfect world.

A perfect God couldn't create an imperfect world because that would shows flaws in his creative ability. Why would a perfect God have the need to create anything?

It is no fun watching perfect people. I would want to be entertained with a bunch of stupid people. That is why I watch Judge Judy! What will they do next? It is way more fun seeing someone slip on a banana peel or or get hit with a cream pie. It is more exciting to be surprised than have everybody act like robots! I loved it when Sandra Bullock walked with her nose in the air and stumble while walking in heals in one of her movies.
I don't know about any previous post about this question but that is my take on it.
If you want a more serious answer I would say maybe He wants to challenge us to make the world better so we can grow. Maybe He wants us to appreciate the gift of life and struggle helps us focus and be less selfish. But in general daily life I like to think He is just busting our chops.
I do not live in some third world country in poverty though and so a more sensitive answer is Maybe He has required us to be responsible with our lives and do good things to improve the world and condition of the lives of others.

"Then the Unique, because of his perfection, through generosity of himself, tends to expand, to widen in ever broader spheres of his own fullness; he is, like a candle, victim of the spreading light, the brighter it grows the more it melts. Yes, God liquefies in the shadows of himself, becomes a throng of divine messengers, Eons that have much of his power, but in a form already weaker. There are many gods, demons, Archons, Tyrants, Forces, Sparks, Stars, and what the Christians call angels or archangels— But they are not created by the Unique, they are an emanation of him."
"Emanation?"
"Now think of fire. Fire does not generate heat: it emanates it. Heat is the same thing as fire; if you were to put out the fire, the heat would also cease. The heat of the fire is very strong where the fire is born, and it becomes gradually weaker as the flame becomes smoke. So it is with God. As he gradually expands from his own dark center, he somehow loses vigor, and he loses more and more until he becomes viscous and insensitive matter, like the shapeless wax of the melting candle. The Unique could not wish to emanate so far from himself, but he cannot resist this dissolving of himself into multiplicity and disorder."

Imperfection is just the perception of an equation working itself out. Everything is in order or in balance, lest the universe fall apart.

Because the flying spaghetti monster was really drunk the night he decided to make the universe, and things that seemed like a good idea at the time ended up sucking.

god didnt create an inperfect world. the world is perfect, man has messed it up.as far as being made in his image.i think when god blew in to adam nostils he blew in his soul. and that is the part of man that is in his image. but he also gave us free will. so we may chose which way to live our life. and we also have flesh which is what messed us up also. have you ever heard that the flesh wants earthly things the soul wants heavenly thing.so here comes the war.

God is in the process of perfecting the world. He's not done.
Using a process as slow as evolution, there are bound to be what the short-sighted see as errors in it. Take the platypus, for instance. In the next version of this world we call Earth, some of the errors will be fixed and some of the bugs resolved--and others might crop up. It is an on-going process.
