My band is trying to find a good tuning to use. We play mostly metal ranging from Three Days Grace to System of a Down and Dimmu Borgir to Goblin Cock. We cover a pretty wide range when it comes to influences. My one guitarist wants low pitched drone in drop A, my other guitarist wants to stay in drop D, and I, the bassist, want to go out and do more along the lines of drop C. What should we play in (based on your own experience and preference) and please give something to back up your answer. I don't really want to hear "Well it depends on what you're playing" or "What's your preference?". I'm asking you for your preference and your reasoning. Thanks in advance.

I just sanded and oiled my new bokuto when I was practicing and felt a pinch. Right across the bottom of the hilt was a wide crack that ran about an inch deep. I just used boiled linseed oil on it so I'm not sure how well sanding would do if I used wood filler or putty. Any suggestions?

Satanism (REAL satanism... Laveyan Satanism, the real stuff) has been mistreated as the literal worship of Satan as a being. When was it that Satanism became this? I realize that some do actually worship the "being" Satan, but Laveyan Satanism had actually nothing to do with worship of any being and very little to do with Christianity. REAL Satanism is the belief that there is no God and sin is simply a group of things that humans take pleasure in and the church banned them. Satanism is the belief that Gods were the ideas of men and to worship one is to worship man, therefore self is the only thing of value.

Where along the lines did Satanism get the reputation of worshiping the devil? Was it misinformation in the news and propaganda spread by religion or is it that people made false assumptions based on the name?

And if you feel like spouting about how Satanism IS the worship of Satan, just keep it to your ignorant self. I'm a member of the church of Laveyan Satanism and I know what this stuff really is and I don't believe in Satan, God or demons and angels. I just follow the tenets set by Anton Lavey. None of the tenets have anything to do with the actual worship or sacrifice of anything. REAL Laveyan Satanism has nothing to do with the allegation in the 1980s and things like that. Ritual sacrifice, murder, torture and illegal activities are generally looked down upon by Laveyan Satanists.

These three things make it pretty clear that REAL satanism is fairly moral (aside from "eye for an eye" things which are morally questionable)

I actually have the black version, so it's a little more normal looking. Playing in a metal band, neon pink and lime green wouldn't really work. The bass is amazing though... I love that p-bass pickup setup.

This sounds stupid, but I'm dead serious. Even against the bad guys, no one ever decides to say "Well these people are trying to take over the world, but I'll just knock them out" What is that? Are they trying to avoid violence or something?

And also, why can you only have six? Pokeballs are pretty small, I think I have the capabilities to carry more than six... The games are cool and everything, but these are questions that i really want answered, even if that was just a frivolous waste of five points.

If a devout Christian and devout Atheist have a child, in your opinion, how should they raise the child? I believe that pushing ANY religion on a child to young to comprehend it all is wrong (To teach one blind faith to an impressionable child is like withholding all murder evidence except one piece from a detective) and I believe that children should either be educated with the basics of all major religions like Shintoism, Taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Atheism, Christianity, Paganism, FSMism (It's as much a religion as any other faiths) and even Satanism (which is often misunderstood to be the worship of Satan, when it is actually the idea that Satan is the force of sin in humans and the belief that humans should not purge what they are in order to pray to a God who obviously doesn't want to change the sin).

What do you think the parents should teach the child? All religions, no religions, or certain religions?

And if you plan on giving a religious speech about why Jesus is the lord and savior, save it for someone whose actually going to listen to your sermons.

In recent news, a man in the military shot numerous people in fort hood, killing some and injuring many more. In an office building, a man shot numerous people and they blamed it on his mental status. In another office building, a man shot up the building and they blamed it on the fact that his life seemed to be falling apart.

In the fort hood case, the first thing the news stations reported (national, not local) was that he was Muslim. In the other two cases, no mention was made of religion.

Why is it that we are so focused on the Muslim man, and not the others? And why was he identified with religion and the others were not?

Give me one tiny shred of proof that God existed and I will convert whole-heartedly.

With religion dying, science growing, wars being waged over pointless age old arguments, why? Why does religion persist when it so obviously has given us nothing aside from war, oppression and death. Almost every war in history was over religion (Crusades, Iraq War, Inquisition) and every well known genocide was because of religion (Holocaust... did you know that Hitler's acts were a result of his strong devotion to Christianity?). And with so many of the world's greatest minds (Abraham Lincoln, Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Nietzsche, Socrates) being atheists, why do so many still sacrifice their time and effort to pursue dreams instead of reality?

I've posted numerous answers about atheism and how much I despise religion, but I think it's about time, I ask a question about the fairy tales you creationists believe in.

Why is it that you believe unquestioningly that you are right about everything. What if you die and it turns out that the Egyptians or the ancient Greeks had it right and Polytheism and the worship of all those numerous Gods is right. Will you still believe in God and Jesus?

Or what if, it turns out the Atheists were right, and nothing happens? Where will you're spirit be? Just floating around space, all mad because you were wrong? At this point, Christians, the odds are definitely stacked against you.

Provided God exists (Which I don't believe) what do you think heaven will be like?

I picture Heaven as an ancient Roman styled city with massive golden gates and lots of books everywhere. I think Hell will just be a giant party where there are no penalties for your actions. You die, you're reborn in Hell. Metal music playing with demons and devils flying around playing all the instruments while humans slowly rot into lepers. I think that's Hell.

What do you people out there think?

I have three dart guns all at full condition, and I went to mothership zeta. The only weapon I used was the glorious (if not pathetic looking) dart gun. And now, I'm running low on darts, but it's my favorite gun to use because of the silence and lethality of it, but I won't use it until; I have a surplus of darts. So I was wondering where I could get darts? I know Flak occasionally sells them ten at a time, but I'm not sure beyond that. Plus everyone in Tenpenny is dead so Gustavo and the other merchants can't sell obviously. Money isn't important so does anyone know where to get darts or merchants who regularly sell them?

My character is very evil, but I would like to get the lawbringer perk as soon as it's available because with all the raiders and talon mercs in the wasteland, it's a slow but steady pool of income. I just needed to know if an evil character can still turn in fingers (or ears, I don't recall) for money if I'm evil. Nothing I've read indicates that it's only for a specific alignment, but I don't want to waste my perk if it won't work.
