quaker parrot leg band?
how can i obtain further info on the tag on my quaker parrot's leg band... i have had the bird for about 3 years, my in laws had it for several years before that, and they got it from there previous land lord, so i am not sure the age of the bird, or anything of its past...
the tag has the letters TX sideways (i assume this means texas?) then RVA 37
i am searching online, but so far have not found any info on tags containing RVA
if it makes a difference it is a closed band.....
I am in NY... so i do not understand the TX, i would assume it would be breed somewhere closer, especially since there are so many wild quakers here...

You could always call some of the leg band manufacturers to inquire if they have this code TX RVA on file. Although it is often extremely hard, sometimes it is possible to trace the breeder this way. Here are a few companies which engrave that I know of:

Another idea would also be to search for Quaker breeders in Texas. Ask if they band their birds, and if so if this is the code they use, if not do they know who might?? Just a thought
