"Pastoral Support Worker" - Application form help?

I assume this is in a school - so any experience with young people is worth a mention. Pastoral support can be anything from listening because a parent or family member has died to dealing with a child who is unhappy at school because they are struggling to make friends. It would be good to show you know that some issues need additional support and you know where to go to find it. If you have experience helping young people with problems let them know about it - youth club helper or through scouting?

You need to be a good listener and definitely non judgemental. You have to deal with people from all walks of life equally - whether a big city businessman with a huge ego or a traveller family.

Look over your experience and think about what makes you want this job - put the two together and you should be on the right track

Any skill you have outside those you already listed in other parts of application. Also - why would someone hire you over an equally qualified candidate - in other words - what's special about you? You are reliable, never missed a day of work/school? You are curious and rarely strive to learn all you can about the world around you and on the job? You type, have great computer skills, coach Little League, etc.

It is important to be a "good listener" and known how to get access to other support agencies like CAB etc.

Suggest stress connections and networks you can bring into play.
