Can you get a tat at 16, in the UK?

Question

So I've heard different things about this, some have told me that I can have one with parental consent, others say that I have to wait until I'm 18. I'm v. confuddled as I would like to get one. BTW its a nice meaningful one so no preaching about getting ... like  tweety pie or summin :P

Yes you can with parental consent. I think the parent has to be present with you. It's not illegal since I know a few people who have been tattooed at 16 with their parents there.

And ignore the tattoo haters, theyre just too wussy to get one. Go for itttt (:

No, you cannot take parents with you, it's a punishable offense in the UK if an artist tattoos a minor, even if the parents say it's OK.

as for your question, i believe you can get it in UK at 16. but the best way to find out, just go to a shop and talk to the artists there. that would be best way to find out, and not only that, meet some different artists as well!

These are permanent and are for life! Try the temporary types where you can choose and change as and when you fwant.. and you could still make a decision to have a permanent one later on. But keep this in mind, there will be permanent 'scars' when you change your mind and decide to remove them. :)
