How likely is it that my friend will tell him?
Yesterday, my friend asked me what I thought about this guy. I gave her the wronge impression and said I liked him, but really I only said he was good looking, which doesn't mean I like him! I am unsure if she'd keep that to herself or not... How likely is it for a girl who I am friends with (but not super close) to tell people?

It depends on whether your "friend" asked you if you liked this guy b/c she wanted to hook you up. If this guy had expressed an interest in you on a romantic level, she may have been trying to gage if you would be interested in him back.
Sometimes people play "matchmaker" if they see you as being possibly a good couple together. She more than likely due to not being a close trusted confidante would go and tell the guy that you think he is good looking, especially if he is waiting for your answer b/c he put her up to it.
If he is a decent guy, good looking, and you both are single, what's the harm?...you never know what can happen. Perhaps she sees something in the two of you that would make for a very compatible relationship, and you end up with a great guy that you never thought of in that way initially.

First off, trust no one. Secondly, if she's a good friend, even though she may not be as close as a best friend, she should respect your confidence in her. If she tells the guy that doesnt necessarily mean you have to date him or be embarassed. Guys never get weirded out, if anything, we just take it as a compliment.
