What is probably causing chest pain when I run?
I can roller blade for 5 straight hours, and I won't get out of breath or have any chest pain. I can ride for 50 miles on my bike. I get no pain. Why then, if I run or jog farther than 100 meters, do I get so out of breath and have chest pain? It only happens when I run. One time, I ran after a loose dog for 5 minutes straight and it took me at least 20 minutes to stop wheezing. When I did breathe, it felt like my heart was in my throat. Last time I tried jogging, I made myself do it for a mile. I never stopped but it seemed like my chest got really tight and I was really out of breath and jogging slow. I didn't know if I wasn't breathing deep enough or what. Sometimes, while exercising, if I'm not careful I will catch myself holding my breath. I don't think I hold my breath any when I'm running. Usually, I'm gasping.
Well, I suppose I'm here because it's free and real doctors use Yahoo. I'm looking for opinions...not a diagnosis.

There could be many reasons but WHY are you asking here instead of talking with a REAL doctor?
It is very common for people to run past their aerobic threshold even if they are not pushing it hard enough to pass it while skating or biking. That could cause your wheezing and being out of breath.
Running jars your body much more and some people have pains from that in the chest and side.
However, non of this knows anything about YOU. I had a friend that was complaining last year about not being able to keep up with others on his skates (he was also doing serious mountain biking, skiing, and scuba diving). He went in to a doctor who said "make arrangements for an immediate stay in the hospital". One of his arteries had better than 95% blockage. If he was a couch potato, it probably would not have been noticeable until it closed off completely and he had a heart attack.
BTW, everyone was stunned at this because he was relatively young.

It's the correct factor entering into for the checks and having matters dominated out. That stated, I have had pinching and stabbing pains (at the left facet of my frame) earlier than and it grew to become out to be not anything of any end result. Hopefully you're the identical and it's only an anomaly.
