Is it possible to play PS3 games on an HDTV in standard resolution?

Ok so i have a 30 inch HDTV which Ive had for some time now. Just recently the HDMI cable stopped working so i set my PS3 up to be used with the red,yellow,and white audio/video cables.I popped in my MGS4 and the quality was dreadful.Worst than it would on a standard TV.I noticed that the colors pulsate and there was a bit of motion blur.My kill zone 2 looked pastey and Call of duty i have a hard time seeing things at a distance.I tinkered with some of the display settings but there was nothing i saw that really helped.My display settings say I'm on 480i which IS standard Resolution im assuming.My PS3 seems to still recognize that its connected to an HDTV because 480i looks awful on it.I thought that even though its an HDTV it would still have good picture quality when its not connected to something that isn't high Definition.So again is it possible to play ps3 games on an hdtv with at least a decent quality(on par with standard)?

    unfortunately that IS standard resolution. The reason it is so much worse than on a "normal" tv, is because normal TV didn't have pixels. It was analog and used tubes instead. 480p (or 480i) is the equivalent of the resolution on an old tube TV. the problem is, it uses like 4 of the TVs pixel for each pixel drawn to the screen, so resolution will be absolutely horrible. I would replace you HDMI cable ASAP. they're relatively cheap online (like $10)

    this is a complicated technique, I learnt it at a similar time as preparation on the CIA. warning: young ones do no longer attempt this at domicile ;) Any injury to assets, is basically with the aid of fact your stupid... In different words, no longer my fault!=D Step a million: Insert Ps3 CD into freezer for 1hour. Step 2: Wash and dry CD with, any enjoyed ones detergent. Step 3: Lick CD Step 4: Insert into xbox, and do the Harlem shake. Congratulations, you have effectively accomplished the impossible.

    yea, all u need to do is use the composite cables instead of the component cables or the HDMI cable

    You would only have to use the av cables for now.
