my significant other who i have been (living ) with for 6 yrs but not married
signed my name to a cheque i had coming back from a purchase $1000.oo and took it to a bank not our bank and tried to cash it the bank said bring me back and they would cash it so she deposited it in to our regular bank and told me about it my question is what do you think i am not so sure that if the bank would of cashed it she would of kept to herself and not said any thing to me about it i really don't have trust issues with her i just am wondering if it sounds kind of fishy to any one else
i did not question her about it never really thougth to much about it till later in the day
the money is still in the bank account

It was only $1000 so I wouldn't make a big deal about it. But it does sound fishy. Since you have been together for six years, you are much more familiar with your relationship than a bunch of strangers at YA and will have a much better idea on whether you need to worry about it or not.

You wouldn't have asked this question if you didn't have trust issues. Maybe you didn't before... But I'm guessing you do now! It takes guts to sign somebody else's name to a check like that. She was either trying to get away with something or she's just very presumptuous (wow, thank goodness for spell checker).

Get this person out of your life immediately.
That is a lot of money and what in the heck are they blowing 1000 k on that they would not tell you?
If you have to ask or wonder....get rid of them.

What she tried to do was criminal and, yes, sounds very fishy. Even if you were married, it still would not have been legal for her to do. I think she absolutely intended to keep it if she got away with it.

who knows how long shes been swiping your money, that account she tried to put ur check in, could have thousands, that shes been stashing away for the last 6 years....
