Should I buy PS3 or XBOX?

I think this answer is going to be a toss-up. Even before the PS3 came out, the best system for racing games has been a debate. See the source link from 2006.

Both systems have pros and cons. Both systems have great graphics. On the price side, the Xbox 360 core system is going to be about $100 less.

The advantage to getting a PS3 is more backwards compatibility. It will play all PS and PS2 games. The Xbox 360 has limited backwards compatibility, and you will have to buy a system with a hard drive to play original Xbox games.

The best answer is to go visit the stores and try the sample games. See which system you like the best, and go with that one. I'm sure the salespeople there would be able to give you good advice also.

Well based on your question it would have to be a PS3 seeing as that is the only console with a Formula One game on it, but for overall experiance i would say a 360, the online is alot more stable and there is 3x as many games out for xbox as there is for PS3, so Dusan is wrong saying they are mostly kiddish games, when almost everygame the 360 has the ps3 has aswell, including xbox still has games like Halo and Gears of War exclusive to the 360 console, and 360 is also getting Metal Gear Solid so playstation lost their only good exclusive there, oh well sorry to rant but it all depends if u will be using the online then defo get the xbox they are currently cheaper cus they have been out 2 more years than the playstation, and yes although you have to pay for the online, its a small price to pay for almost never gettin connection issues.

hey both have similar graphics, anyone who says one is way superior than others is lying, (I do have both) and have Call of Duty 4 on both plus many other games, because some of my friends have only one console so i can play with them all and i can hardly tell the difference in graphics,

and as for breakdowns if u asked 6 months ago i would have said the xbox breaks down alot more it use to have 37.5% failure rate p/year, and the PS3 had 2%, but since one of the latest updates on the PS3 there have been some hardware issues and now PS3's are getting 'The Yellow Light of Death' that in the past 6 months has put the ps3 failure rating up 12.5%,

But anyway, get a 360, have a better online experiance (take out some warranty, just incase AND HAVE FUN)

This message is coming from a guy who owns and plays both systems as well as 27 other ones and been playing for 30 years. I am a fanboy of no system so Im telling you straight.

I will compare a ps3 and a 360 elite since they are both the same price and the 360 elite is the fanciest model the 360 has.

Ps3 has built in included wifi connection for wireless internet, the 360 does not. It will cost you another 100 bucks to buy a addon for the 360 to get wifi. (do note ps3 also includes ethernet for a wired internet connection also so you get both).

Ps3 has bluetooth and usb ports for flash drives, keyboard, mice, mics, headset, earpieces and so on, the 360 has neither nor can you add them on.

Ps3 has 100% free online gaming, the 360 charges you a annual fee to play any game online or even have a friends list. Ps3 also has something called Home which is 100% free and optional to use where you make a character and run through a virtual world with other people, chat, check out themed areas like a resident evil 5 area with mini games, trailers playing on big screens, an apartment you get to own and decorate.

Ps3 can play blu ray high def movies and has a really good upconvert on dvds, 360 can only play normal dvds and doesnt improve their picture any.

Not to mention the ps3 runs dead quiet vs a 360 which is quite loud. And ps3 is known for being a pretty problem free machine while 360 even to this day still suffers from hardware problems, hell gamestop stopped taking extended warranties on them (dont know if they do again now or not) because so many people were bringing them back with problems.

Far as games go both systems have 90% of the exact same games. All big names games like madden, bioshock, call of duty 4, fallout 3, grand theft auto 4 and so are on both systems and continue to be.

Each year the list of exclusive games gets smaller. But personally the games on the ps3 that are exclusive I like better and have more of a variety to them. Killzone 2, uncharted 1 and 2, little big planet, god of war 3, gran turismo 5, super stardust hd, resistance 1 and 2, ratchet and clank tools of destruction, heavy rain among another dozen titles coming out in the next year that are ps3 only I like better. But all big name big production games will be on both systems.

And well, I like the ps3 controller better.

I think you should buy a PS3 console as I believe it has better graphics and is just a better console. You want to go online, on your racing games right? Well PS3 offers FREE online gaming, without a cost. I also think the main menu is so much easier to use on a PS3. Xbox 360 is a bad idea. Heard of the red ring of fire?? Heard of having to pay for online gaming on the 360.... Although the PS3 is more expensive it really is worth it. Hope this helped.

ps3, way better graphics, blue-ray player and free online instead of paying for xbox live.

besides, Microsoft is soon gonna come out with a new gaming system so if you want you can wait. or just get a ps3.

also look at the games exclusively for xbox and exclusively for ps3 and see which ones you like better

I like the xbox 360 because it has way more games than the ps3.

But ps3 gets online for free and with the xbox you have to pay every 1,3, or 12 months.

Xbox also breaks dwn and destroys discs if you play it to much without giving it a break. All my friends have had their xbox break down at least once. KEEP THE WARRENTY!!!

I havent heard of a ps3 breaking down yet though.

But i thinnk you should get the ps3 because its relliable and it has intense games that the xbox does not get.

well PS3 take forever to load games but XBOX has the red ring of death, also I think PS3 has better graphics... I like XBOX better but the choice is up to you.

I have a xbox 360 and i've had problems with it a lot. It scratches discs, is extremely loud, breaks down often. But it has a lot of sweet games so i try to endure.

well if you get a new xbox 360 they wont breakdown on you, project natal from xbox looks promosing look it up you will like it, ps3 is trying to go the route of wii, i have a wii and i love it, i would stick with a wii, or get xbox, the only benefit i think with ps3 is it has blueray, and i think it does online gaming for free,
