Can taking B-12 vitamin be a cause for insomnia?
I take a shot of B-12 (1cc) a week. I have a deficiency - my body doesn't absorb it from the food I eat or from pills. Therefore, i take a shot. This was figured out (finally) during the last month I had insurance. My levels were very low. (222 blood test) I have been taking it weekly for about 6 months now. I know I will need to take it for the rest of my life but the goal was to get to once a month. I also know I need a blood test to find out how often to take it next but I can't afford. I've been told by a nurse that you will pee out the excess and it is OK if I have excess because of that.
About 2 months ago I began feeling more energy and a lot better. About a month ago (or month and a half) I began not falling asleep. It takes me hours and I was just curious if this could be the culprit.
Yes, I've tried what feels like everything. I do take the shot at about 9am on Sundays. I do drink sweet tea but that's about it as far as caffeine goes. No pop or anything. I keep it dark.. etc. Just thought maybe I should try every other week and see if that helps me.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net/
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

The primary physical side effects of taking too much B12 include mild diarrhoea, skin rashes, hives, breathing problems and heart palpitations. Vitamin B12 can have negative psychological side effects. They include panic, anxiety attacks and insomnia. Large doses of B12 can lead to an early onset of the disease or cause the optic nerve to atrophy more rapidly. Take care always.............

Yes it can cause you to have a hard time sleeping. It is better to take it first thing in the morning. Also, do not drink caffiene after abotu 1:00 in the afternoon. You can also try relaxation before you go to bed.
