Does anyone know the origin of the colors of the Swiss Flag?

1. Switzerland

Wrong. The white cross on a red background originates in the time of the Holy Roman Empire, with the flags adopted by the first cantons of the Swiss Confederation on achieving sovereignty.

2. Red Cross

Right. Henry Dunant was a Swiss national, and the name and the emblem of the International Red Cross Movement are derived from the reversal of the Swiss national flag, to honour the country in which the Red Cross was founded.
