Running longer or faster?

I started running 5 weeks ago up to 15m a week, 3m a day 5 days a week. It seems I have hit a plateau, I am trying to loose another 10lbs, I have lost about 25lbs in the last 6months. Would you recommend increasing my speed or increasing the time/distance?

    Both! Increase your mileage slowly each week, AND add in some fast running about once a week. You'll start to see a difference very soon in your fitness and how you feel, as well as jump starting your muscles to work harder, which will increase your metabolism, which will help you lose more weight.

    But be careful to not overeat just because you are stepping up your running. Many people make that mistake, and think they can eat whatever they want and wonder why with all the exercise they're doing, they're not losing the weight they want to lose.     increasing mileage will work but the best way to get your weight down is to do intervals. for example, sprint for a minute, jog/walk for a minute, and continue to repeat that. it's been proven that intervals burn more calories, especially hours after the workout. good luck and happy running!!

    you should definetly increase your mileage. If you run the same mileage every week then you will just maintain your same weight. try increasing your mileage by 10% each week and your speed will increase automatically.
